Reims Art: La Barracks Chanzy & Iemza’s Vision

Street artist in love with his adopted city, Iemza is particularly known for his urban frescoes and his very graphic reinterpretations of Reims Cathedral. Another emblematic building of the city of coronations has just been placed on a canvas by the Sparnacian artist: the Chanzy Barracks.
The former fire station, transformed in 2019 into a 5-star hotel, restaurant and spa, wanted to celebrate its centenary with an original work and it was in Iemza that the hotel complex commissioned this “contemporary and graphic interpretation […] a sensitive rereading of this monument of Reims heritage, highlighting a century of history, transformations and rebirth.” The work is hung in the establishment’s lobby and therefore visible upon guests’ arrival at the hotel.
