BANYUMASEKSPRES.ID, Xiaomi has again expanded its line of smart devices by launching the Redmi Watch 6, the newest smartwatch officially released in China. This smartwatch is the successor to the Redmi Watch 5 which was previously launched in November 2024.
From the start, this device immediately attracted attention because it brought a number of significant improvements over the previous generation, starting from a slimmer design, a bigger and brighter screen, to deeper integration with the HyperOS 3 ecosystem.
At first glance, the appearance of the Redmi Watch 6 still maintains the square screen shape typical of the Redmi Watch series. However, there are new details that make it feel different and more elegant.
Xiaomi has now added a secondary button below the main crown, which is called a sub-key. This button allows users to quickly access various favorite features and can be customized according to their needs.
This double button concept makes the appearance of the Redmi Watch 6 similar to the Apple Watch, especially in terms of placement and functionality.
Design changes can also be seen on the body, which is now much thinner. Redmi Watch 6 only has a thickness of 9.9 mm, while its predecessor reached 11.3 mm.
These slimmer dimensions make it look modern and comfortable to use all day. Apart from that, the screen brightness level has also increased drastically compared to the previous generation.
In terms of appearance, the Redmi Watch 6 is equipped with a 2.07 inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 432×514 pixels and a refresh rate of 60 Hz.
Peak brightness reaches 2,000 nits, an increase from the Redmi Watch 5 which is only 1,500 nits. The bezels on all four sides of the screen are also made very thin, only 2 millimeters, so that the screen-to-body ratio reaches 82 percent.
The Always-on Display (AOD) feature is also embedded, allowing users to see the time and notifications without having to turn on the screen.
Xiaomi uses an aluminum frame for the body of this watch, giving it a premium yet sturdy impression. Users can also change straps easily, with a choice of silicone or synthetic leather, according to style and needs.
In terms of power, the 550 mAh capacity battery used remains the same as on the Redmi Watch 5.
However, better power efficiency means it can last up to 24 days in basic mode, 12 days for normal use, and 7 days if the AOD feature is active.
Charging uses a magnetic system, making the charging process more practical. Redmi Watch 6 runs on the HyperOS 3 interface, which is the key to cross-device integration in the Xiaomi ecosystem.
Through this system, users can connect watches with smartphones, smart home devices, and vehicles.
This feature allows users to unlock their car, control household appliances, and receive notifications from various devices just via their wrist.
In addition, this smartwatch also supports Xiaomi AI voice assistant, and allows Android users to reply to WeChat messages directly from the watch.
From the fitness side, Redmi Watch 6 offers 24-hour heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen level tracking (SpO₂), sleep monitoring, stress detection, and women’s health cycle tracker.
For sports activities, there are more than 150 training modes, including walking, running and cycling. The auto tracking feature also helps recognize the type of activity without having to select manual mode.
This watch has 5ATM water resistance certification, meaning it is safe to use for swimming or water activities at shallow depths.
Other additional features include Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, music player, voice recorder, compass, weather updates, calendar synchronization, and remote camera control.
All this makes the Redmi Watch 6 not just an activity tracker, but also an all-round digital assistant for everyday life.
Xiaomi offers the Redmi Watch 6 in three elegant color options: Misty Blue, Elegant Black, and Moonlight Silver.
In the Chinese market, this smart watch is sold for 599 yuan, or around Rp. 1.3 million, as reported by Notebookcheck, Monday (27/10/2025). (vip)
