Ingredients

ripe red pears (about 2)

apple cider vinegar

- Step 1In a saucepan, bring sugar, vanilla, cardamom, and 1/2 cup water to a boil. Cut a few slices from pears for garnish, roughly chop the rest, and add to the pan. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes, then let stand 30 minutes. Strain and stir in vinegar. Refrigerate until cold.
- Step 2 Line 2 glasses with reserved pear slices. Divide vinegar mixture among glasses (1/2 cup each) and top with club soda.
