– Now it’s about deterring concrete threats from the US and preventing further escalation. Then Norway must put up with what is needed, says Rødt’s foreign policy spokesperson Bjørnar Moxnes to Klassekampen.
Among other things, he believes that it should be relevant to send Norwegian frigates to Greenland.
– Last year the government sent one frigate, six combat aircraft and our largest supply ship to the Pacific. We made large contributions to the occupation of Afghanistan and the bombing of Libya. Rødt also believes that an escalation from the Norwegian side could lead to a de-escalation of the situation around Greenland.

Military personnel from a number of European countries, including Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany and France, arrived in Greenland on Thursday under the leadership of Danish personnel. It is happening at the same time that Trump has repeatedly demanded that the United States be allowed to take over Greenland and has not ruled out using military force.
