BOSTON – Red Hat and SiFive are joining forces to enhance the RISC-V ecosystem. the collaboration is designed to bring Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) support to the RISC-V community and prepare Red Hat’s product lineup for integration with RISC-V server hardware.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 is now available in developer preview on the SiFive HiFive Premier P550 platform, which SiFive describes as a high-performance RISC-V CPU development platform. This move is expected to enable developers to create and optimize applications for enterprise servers and cloud infrastructure using the RISC-V architecture.
