Driver Shot Dead in Recoleta
RECOLETA, May 24 – A driver working for a transport application was fatally shot in Recoleta on Friday night.

The incident took place around 11:50 PM on Long Juarez Street. The victim,a Venezuelan national,was attacked by a group of unknown individuals,resulting in his death at the scene.
Commissioner Juan Zereré of the Homicide Brigade Norte de la PDI stated that the victim “could have been forced to move to a specific point, precisely to this street, Juárez Largo, where He was retained and later descended by force to be executed on public roads receiving various ballistic impacts in different areas of your body.”
Prosecutor Sergio Soto,from the team against organized crime and homicides (Eco),noted that “According to the proceedings carried out by investigating police personnel (…) it would be a person Venezuelan nationality (which) would be in an irregular situation” in chile.

The PDI Homicide Brigade is leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the driver’s death,as instructed by the Public Ministry.
As of now, the identities of the perpetrators remain unknown.
