Shoeless Joe’s Celebrity Golf Classic to benefit Cancer Care

The annual Shoeless Joe’s Celebrity Golf Classic will take place on June 11 at Norwoods Golf course, raising funds for cancer care and services in the region.


The annual Shoeless Joe’s Celebrity Golf Classic, a fundraising event for cancer care, is scheduled for Wednesday, June 11, at Norwoods Golf course. The missouri Sports Hall of Fame is partnering with the event, with Raymond James Financial Services serving as the official sponsor.

the Shoeless Joe’s Golf Classic offers participants the chance to play alongside members of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame and other sports celebrities. Past celebrity guests have included former St. louis Cardinals football players Mel Gray, Johnny Roland and Eric Williams, former Chiefs players Art Still and Ted McKnight, and Chase Coffman, an All-American tight end for the University of Missouri.

Supporting Cancer care in the Region

“The support over the last 15 years has been overwhelming, raising more than $1 million to support patients of Hannibal Regional.”

“This is such a fun event, and we are so appreciative of Raymond James and all those who sponsor and participate.The support over the last 15 years has been overwhelming, raising more than $1 million to support patients of Hannibal Regional,” Wendy Harrington, Hannibal Regional Foundation president and CEO, said in a press release. “We are excited to be able to host this event again and look forward to another great year.”

Proceeds from the event will go to the Hannibal Regional Foundation’s Legacy of Hope campaign, which supports cancer care and services in the region. Funds will be used to purchase a new linear accelerator and for building upgrades at the Cary Cancer Center in Hannibal, and also for the construction of a new cancer center in Kirksville.
