Rams NFL Playoffs: Reaching Semifinals in the Snow

by Archynetys World Desk

Under the most uncomfortable conditions, the Los Angeles Rams saved themselves after a comeback from the Chicago Bears and reached the play-off semifinals in the National Football League (NFL). The Californians won 20:17 after overtime against the Chicago Bears in snowfall and minus eight degrees Celsius, now it’s off to the strong Seattle Seahawks.

With 18 seconds left in regulation, the Rams led 17-10, then Bears quarterback Caleb Williams made a difficult throw on the fourth attempt and found tight end Cole Kmet in the end zone, the ball flew more than 50 yards. It didn’t help in the end, kicker Harrison Mevis shot LA to victory in overtime with a 54-yard field goal.

“Obviously you’d love to come here and throw for 450 yards and four touchdowns, but hey, you’ve got to find a way to win the game, survive and advance. And we did that,” Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford said with relief. The MVP candidate did not manage a touchdown pass.

According to media reports, the Rams from sunny California had cayenne pepper in their socks to stay warm for one of the coldest playoff games in Chicago. They came through and now have a difficult task ahead of them against the number one seed in the NFC. Seattle dismantled the San Francisco 49ers 41-6 at home in the quarterfinals on Saturday (local time). The duel will take place on the night of next Monday (12:30 a.m. CET/RTL and DAZN).
