As September 1st marks the beginning of meteorological autumn, residents of Baden-Württemberg can expect to trade sunshine for showers. The DWD predicts that rainproof clothing and umbrellas will be essential accessories this week.

Rainy Start to Autumn

Monday will be predominantly cloudy and cool, with rain developing first in the west of the state and spreading to the Allgäu region by afternoon. Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 17 to 22 degrees Celsius.

The DWD forecasts a drop in temperatures overnight into Tuesday, with lows of 10 to 14 degrees celsius. A sweater or jacket will be necessary, especially during the night.

There is also a risk of thunderstorms with heavy rainfall, potentially reaching 20 liters per square meter in a short period, and locally up to 40 liters per square meter over a few hours.

Weather Forecast for the Week

The unsettled weather pattern is expected to continue on Tuesday, with maximum temperatures between 16 and 22 degrees Celsius. Expect more rain, with a continued chance of lightning and thunderstorms.

Wednesday should bring a change,starting with variable cloud cover but gradually clearing from the afternoon onwards,with increasing sunshine. Temperatures in Baden could reach up to 24 degrees Celsius, while the Ostalb region will see highs of around 19 degrees Celsius.

Thursday is expected to begin dry and clear,but rain will move in again from the west later in the day. Maximum temperatures are forecast to be between 21 and 25 degrees Celsius.
