It is often said that one person’s bad luck is another’s good luck. It is impossible to describe better what is happening in Zagłębie Lubin.
The basic goalkeeper in the “Copper” team is Dominik Hładun. However, in the last match against Legia Warszawa he had to leave the pitch due to an injury.
– There will probably be surgery – said coach Leszek Ojrzyński at the post-match press conference.
Hładun will not play for several weeks, so Zagłębie intends to use the regulation loophole and conduct the so-called medical transfer.
Szymon Janczyk from Weszlo.com even pointed out a specific name. Rafał Gikiewicz is currently undergoing medical tests in Zagłębiewho at the beginning of this season was the first goalkeeper of Widzew Łódź, but lost his place in the squad after the match in Białystok.
Gikiewicz was eliminated in Widzew and had no chance to play. Interestingly, at the end of the summer transfer window he was close to moving to Lubin, but then the matter fell through at the last stage. Now it seems that nothing will stand in the way.
And next week the 37-year-old will be able to play against Widzew in the 1/16 final match of the STS Polish Cup.
