ININ Games announces “R-Type Dimensions III” for PS5, Xbox Series X, Switch, Switch 2 and PC. The shoot’em-up is created in collaboration with Tozai and Irem.
A gripping trailer for “R-Type Dimensions III” can already be seen. It explains the central features of the title to us for over a minute and of course also shows gameplay from it.
“R-Type Dimensions III” takes the traditional shoot ’em up series into a contemporary form and at the same time combines its iconic arcade roots with completely newly developed content. ININ, Tozai and Irem worked closely together to create a modern reinterpretation that revitalizes every stage, boss and attack pattern with high-quality 3D graphics, improved animations and detailed environments.
At the same time, the characteristic atmosphere is preserved, as you can always switch between the faithful presentation and the current version. Music and sound effects have also been completely reconstructed, offering both nostalgic authenticity and a new acoustic perspective.
The title also includes new game variants, local co-op options, revised scoring and survival mechanics as well as a variety of comfort functions and customizable control options. Two camera perspectives also provide additional variety.
“R-Type Dimensions III” will be released in May 2026.
