The federal agency’s warning affects almost all Quebec regions: from Outaouais to the North Shore, including Montérégie, Montreal, Laval, the Laurentians, Lanaudière, Mauricie, Capitale-Nationale, Chaudière-Appalaches, Center-du-Québec, Estrie, Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madelaine.

On Thursday, winds will be strong and will cause blowing snow, reducing visibility in places, warns Environment Canada.

Travel will likely be difficult, particularly due to reduced visibility at times. These conditions could have significant impacts on traffic during peak hours.

Several road exits took place in the province on Wednesday due to the already difficult conditions on the road network. It was the snowfall of the day that caused this turbulence.

In Quebec, in the Cap-Rouge district, an 86-year-old motorist lost his life following a collision involving two vehicles.

Otherwise, with the wind chill, the feeling will reach -20 degrees in the afternoon, Thursday.

Gusts of up to 60 km/h could hit the metropolis. The snowfall will stop around midnight, giving way to cloudy skies.
