5th place: Revolutionary theory showing that gravity originates from entropy announced

Fifth place is a theory that approaches the origin of gravity.
“Why does gravity exist in the first place?” – Everyone has probably had such a question.
However, research conducted at the University of London in the UK has proposed a revolutionary theory that states that gravity originates from entropy.
To use an example familiar to us, entropy is a concept similar to the degree of “messiness” or “irreversibility” that occurs when coffee mixes with milk while stirring and becomes difficult to return to its original state.
This entropy may be connected to the source of gravity.
“This study proposes that quantum gravity has an entropic origin, and suggests that the gravitational field may be a candidate for dark matter,” said author Bianco.
This is very different from the existing interpretation of space-time, which assumes that the presence of a heavy object distorts space-time and produces gravity, and suggests that gravity may also be determined by the relative relationship between space-time and matter (quantum relative entropy).
The idea that “gravity is the result of entropy” forces us to go beyond the conventional explanation of “the curvature of space” and reconsider space and time itself from a different perspective in order to understand the universe.
