Residents of Capdenac-Gare and surrounding areas have a unique chance to delve into the world of taoist practices. A specialized IQ Gong internship, focusing on Taoist exercises, is scheduled for Saturday, March 29th, and Sunday, March 30th. This workshop offers a complete introduction to these ancient movements, known for their holistic benefits.

A Weekend of Wellness: Softening the Body, Strengthening the Mind

Led by experienced instructor Séverine Laur, the workshop will be held at the Capdenac-Gare dojo. Sessions will run from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM each afternoon. Participants will explore 24 distinct exercises traditionally used as preparation for Chinese martial arts. Today, these exercises are widely practiced within the qi Gong community for their profound impact on physical and mental well-being.

Laur emphasizes the multifaceted benefits of these exercises: They allow you to soften the body and the spine, strengthen balance and coordination, tone the legs and improve breathing. This “Taoist gymnastics,” as it’s frequently enough described,offers a complete and accessible system of movement suitable for both beginners and seasoned practitioners seeking to refine their technique.

Qi Gong: More Than Just Exercise

Qi Gong, often translated as “life energy cultivation,” is a system of coordinated body-posture and movement, breathing, and meditation used for the purposes of health, spirituality, and martial arts training. According to the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH), studies suggest that Qi Gong may improve balance, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life for individuals with chronic conditions. This workshop provides a foundational understanding of these principles through practical application.

Registration Details and Availability

The cost for the weekend workshop is €70. Spaces are limited, but registration remains open. Notably, prior participation in the January session is not required to benefit from this internship. Séverine laur assures prospective attendees, It is quite possible to join this internship without having followed the first session of January.
