OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – The Purdue men’s golf team concluded the first round of the Fighting Illini / Olympia fields Invitational in 13th place after posting a 12-over par 292 at Olympia Fields Country Club [1].

Texas Tech holds the led after 18 holes with a 1-under par 279. several teams are within striking distance,as eight other teams are within seven shots of the leading Red Raiders. Purdue trails ninth-place Arizona State by six shots and is within reach of Georgia Tech (+7),Texas (+8),and Stanford (+11). indiana (+13) and Baylor (+15) complete the current standings [1].

Individual Performances

Sam Easterbrook led the Boilermakers with an even-par 70,tying for 14th place. Easterbrook was 2-under par through 13 holes but recorded two bogeys in the last five holes [1].
