The Pueblo East girls’ basketball team kicked off its season on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at home against the Cheyenne Mountain Red Tailed Hawks.
After a slow start, the Eagles took care of the Cheyenne Mountain, 54-36, with a big performance from freshman Dejanay Arrington and senior Myah Abeyta.
East is coming into the season as a high favorite to emerge from Pueblo as one of the top teams. Coming off last season’s unfortunate ending, Coach Carlos Lopez and the Eagles are expecting to make a deep run this year.
