PSSI asked the referee to seriously evaluate himself regarding the Championship club’s ‘illegal goalGarudayaksa FC. The team scored a goal from a process that was not fair play.

The Championship match between Garudayaksa vs FC Bekasi City at Pakansari Stadium, Saturday (10/1/2026), ended with a score of 1-1. The hosts took an early 1-0 lead through a goal scored by Renan Silva in the 30th minute, which was equalized at 1-1 three minutes later by Obet Choiri.

The equalizing goal was in the spotlight because it came from a corner kick that violated the rules. Feby Eka Putra as the corner kick executor placed the ball far outside the arc line.

Even though the Championship has a Video Assistant Referee (VAR), the referee does not have a review process. Bekasi City was very disappointed with the passing of the goal.

“This is what we asked our referee friends to evaluate. We also hope that the Referee Committee will carry out an evaluation,” said PSSI Executive Committee (Exco) member Arya Sinulingga to journalists, Sunday (11/1).

“Because VAR was introduced to make the match fairer and can be enjoyed well. Don’t let anything happen that is detrimental,” he added.

This controversy has again put Indonesian football in the spotlight with a negative accent. After the League 4 competition was marked by two violent kicking actions, now it is League 2’s turn to tarnish the image of domestic football.

“We ask the Referee Committee to carry out an evaluation and there will definitely be a report to us,” said Arya.
