despite widespread unrest across France,the Paris St-Germain (PSG) team celebrated their Champions League victory with a parade in Paris on Sunday.

The team, managed by Luis Enrique, secured their first Champions League title after defeating inter Milan 5-0 in the final held in Munich on saturday. The victory was followed by widespread disorder throughout France.

the team’s parade took place on an open-top bus, proceeding from the Champs Elysees to the Arc de triomphe. The event lasted approximately one hour.

A meaningful police presence was observed during the celebrations due to the previous night’s disturbances, which resulted in two fatalities.

In Dax, a 17-year-old boy died from a stab wound to the chest. In central Paris, a 23-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle while riding a scooter.

According to paris police prefect laurent Nunez, the overnight clashes led to 192 injuries and 491 arrests in Paris.

Reports indicate that flares and fireworks were ignited, bus shelters were vandalized, and cars were set ablaze, with the majority of the chaos unfolding in the capital.

The unrest resulted in injuries to twenty-two police officers and seven firefighters, as well as the burning of 264 vehicles.

In Grenoble, a car struck a group of PSG fans, injuring four members of the same family. Two sustained serious injuries.

PSG issued a statement condemning “in the strongest possible terms the violence that occurred during the celebrations.”

The statement continued, “These isolated acts are contrary to the club’s values and in no way represent the vast majority of our supporters, whose exemplary behavior throughout the season deserves to be commended.”

Despite the previous night’s events, authorities decided to proceed with the victory parade on Sunday, limiting attendance to 100,000 people.

Following the parade, PSG’s players visited the Elysee Palace, were they were greeted by france president emmanuel Macron.

The team concluded their celebrations with an event for season-ticket holders at the club’s Parc des Princes stadium later that night.
