Sony will release a new version of the PS5’s Dual Sense Wireless Controller this spring. The so-called Hyperpop Collection is intended to stand out from the regular model through its design. “A seamless color gradient surrounds the front and back of the DualSense and is provided with a high-gloss coating that brings out the colors even more intensely,” reveals Sony designer Sae Kobayashi.
There are three color variants to choose from in the Hyperpop Collection: Techno (red), Remix (green) and Rhythm (blue). According to Sony designer Leo Cardoso, the design was inspired by the “glow of the RGB lights in your gaming setups”. Aside from the design, there are no other differences between the regular Dual Sense controller and the Hyperpop Collection.
Dual Sense controller appears in Hyperpop Collection
The new controller will go on sale on March 12th, but pre-orders will be possible from January 16th at 10 a.m. – both in Sony’s PlayStation online shop and at specialist retailers such as MediaMarkt. The recommended retail price for the controller is 84.99 euros. This makes it around 10 euros more expensive than the regular Dual Sense Wireless Controller.

Anyone who would like to redesign their console to match the new controller can also do this from March. Because parallel to the new Hyperpop controller, Sony is also releasing matching covers for your PS5. These will be available in limited quantities in selected markets for 74.99 euros.
