The Ministry of Justice would like to soon implement that the wage increase for prisoners is based on the average salary levels.
Last year, 5,083 people in prison were required to work between January and November. This year these people receive 8.15 euros per hour for light unskilled work. For specialist work there is 11.20 euros per hour. However, the prisons keep around 75 percent of this wage.
