The three presidential candidates will take part in a televised debate on on RTÉ One this afternoon.
Independent candidate Catherine Connolly, Jim Gavin of Fianna Fáil and Heather Humphreys of Fine Gael will discuss the issues facing the 10th President of Ireland on The Week in Politics.
The past week has seen the campaign intensify as each candidate has faced individual issues.
The first part of the debate will focus on the national role of the President while the second part will deal with the international dimension.
And there will be a question as Gaeilge, although candidates will have the option of answering in English.
Later today, Ms Connolly will canvass in Dublin along with the party leaders of Sinn Féin, Labour and the Social Democrats, while Heather Humphreys will also be meeting voters in the capital.
Today’s debate will be broadcast live on RTÉ One at 12pm when candidates will be questioned by host Áine Lawlor.
