The 20 Premier League clubs have broken the record for the amount spent in a single transfer window, splashing £2.37bn.

English Premier League teams have shattered spending records during the current transfer window, reaching a staggering £2.37bn.

This new high mark was triggered by the £18m transfer of striker Noah Okafor from AC Milan to Leeds United, pushing the league’s total expenditure beyond the previous 2023 record of £2.36bn.

Notably, this record was broken with ten days still remaining in the 2025 summer transfer window.

While Okafor’s £18m acquisition is significant, it is indeed overshadowed by over 20 other transfers exceeding £30m.

Key transfers include Florian Wirtz‘s £116m move from Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool, as well as Hugo Ekitike (Eintracht Frankfurt to Liverpool), benjamin Sesko (RB Leipzig to Manchester United), Matheus Cunha (Wolves to Manchester United), and Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford to Manchester United), all surpassing £70m.

Data compiled by FrootballTransfers.com indicates that this summer window is the highest on record, fueled by Premier League clubs generating £1bn in player sales, which incentivized further spending.
