First meeting in 6 years

Trump and Xi Jinping’s meeting last Thursday was the first in six years.

Xi and Trump last met in June 2019 at the G20 Summit in Osaka, Japan.

“The world today is faced with many difficult problems. China and the United States can jointly shoulder our responsibilities as great countries and work together to achieve more great and real things for the good of the two countries and the whole world,” Xi said.

“Given our different national conditions, we do not always see eye to eye, and it is natural for the world’s two largest economies to occasionally experience friction,” Xi continued.
