Prabowo in Aceh: Disaster Relief Visit to Bireuen

President Prabowo Subianto arrives at Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport, Aceh Besar, Aceh. Prabowo will take a helicopter to Bireuen to visit the disaster victims there.

Monitoring detikcomSunday (7/12/2025), Prabowo arrived using the presidential plane at Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport at 10.20 WIB. Prabowo wore a light brown safari shirt.

Prabowo was welcomed by Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf (Mualem), National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, BNPB Head Lt. Gen. Suharyanto, Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo, Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak.

Prabowo then walked towards the helicopter. Prabowo and his entourage will head to Bireuen.

Prabowo was accompanied by Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Head of the Government Communications Agency Angga Raka Prabowo when heading to the disaster location. This is Prabowo’s second visit to the disaster site in Aceh. Prabowo first visited Kutacane, Southeast Aceh Regency, on December 1.

Today, Prabowo will inspect points that have experienced severe damage and impact due to flooding. Prabowo will also monitor the distribution of aid, the process of evacuating residents and opening road access.

Prabowo has requested that disaster management in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra be made a national priority. He also requested that all resources be mobilized to accelerate the recovery of disaster-affected areas in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra.

Based on BNPB data as of Sunday (7/12), there were 916 people who died as a result of floods in the three provinces. Apart from that, there are still 274 people who are declared missing and 4,200 people injured.

The floods also caused hundreds of thousands of people to become refugees in the 52 affected districts/cities. The most deaths were in Aceh.
