Case background
It is known that Rasnal and Abdul Muis, who had served for decades as teachers, lost their status as State Civil Apparatus (ASN).
The two teachers were found guilty as a result of collecting Rp. 20,000 which was intended to help honorary teachers.
The good intentions of helping honorary teachers actually made them face the law until trial, until they were finally found guilty by the Supreme Court (MA).
This incident was highlighted by various parties, including the PGRI, which urged the state to provide legal protection for teachers.
Chairman of PGRI North Luwu, Ismaruddin, explained that this case began in 2018.
At that time, Rasnal and Abdul Muis together with the school committee agreed on a voluntary contribution of IDR 20,000 per month from the students’ parents to help honorary teachers who were not registered with Dapodik.
“I just wanted to help the school, but in the end it was considered a violation of the law,” said Muis softly, quoted from, Monday (10/11/2025).
