A cloud of controversy hangs over Padjajaran University’s (Unpad) specialist doctor education program (PPDS) at Hasan Sadikin hospital (RSHS) in Bandung, following allegations of rape. The West Java Police are currently investigating the claims, which involve a doctor participating in the program.

Chronology of Events: A Patient’s Ordeal

according to Police commissioner Hendra Rochmawan,Head of Public Relations for the West Java Police,the alleged incident occurred in the early hours of March 18th,around 1:00 AM Western Indonesian Time (WIB).The victim, identified as FA, was reportedly attending to her father, a patient at the hospital. She was then approached by the suspect, identified as PAP, and asked to assist with a blood transfusion.

The situation took a disturbing turn when the suspect allegedly escorted the victim from the emergency room to the 7th floor of the MCHC building. Commissioner Rochmawan stated, The suspect asked the victim not to be accompanied by her younger brother.

Once on the 7th floor, the victim was allegedly instructed to change into surgical attire. Following this,the suspect is accused of administering an anesthetic injection,rendering the victim unconscious.

Waking Up to Trauma: The Aftermath

The victim regained consciousness around 4:00 AM WIB and returned to the emergency room. However, she experienced severe pain in her genital area when attempting to urinate. She confided in her mother about the events that transpired while she was unconscious, leading the family to suspect foul play and report the incident to the police.

Investigation and Arrest: Seeking Justice

Following a thorough investigation, the police apprehended the suspect, PAP, on March 23, 2025. Commissioner Surawan, Director of the West Java Regional Police Directorate of Criminal Investigation, confirmed that the alleged rape took place within the confines of RSHS, specifically in an unused room.

That is indeed the room not yet used,it is indeed a new room. They (RSHS) are planned for special women’s operations. So it hasn’t used it yet.

A suspect, identified as PAP, is in custody following allegations of sexual assault. Authorities report that PAP attempted suicide shortly before his arrest. According to police statements, the suspect tried to harm himself by cutting his wrists and received medical treatment before being apprehended.

Evidence and Charges: Law Number 12 of 2022

Police have gathered a substantial amount of evidence related to the case, including two Fulset infusions, two gloves, seven injections, twelve syringes, one condom, and various medications. PAP is being charged under Article 6 C of Law Number 12 of 2022, which addresses sexual violence crimes. If convicted, he faces a maximum prison sentence of 12 years.
