In the first three months of 2024, compared to the same period of the previous year, there was an increase in demand for properties for sale on the outskirts of large cities, with demand decreasing in these.

According to data from imovirtual, there was a slight increase in the demand for properties for sale (+2.7%) during the period under analysis, and, in general, the municipalities of Alcanena (+109.2%), Póvoa do Lanhoso (+69.4%) and Penacova (+68.9%), are those where there is a sharper growth in demand for property.

On the other hand, the municipalities of Lagos (-34.9%), Albufeira (-27.5%), Arruda dos Vinhos (-27.3%) and Faro (-25.1%), are those that show a greater decrease in demand, in period under analysis.

Regarding the metropolitan areas of Lisbon and Porto, imovirtual shows a tendency for a decrease in the demand for houses, with a drop of 5% in 2024, compared to 2023, in which it is possible to highlight as a top 3 municipality
