Northwest Health-Porter Assures Continued Surgical Care After Surgeon Resignations
Liberty Township, IN – Northwest Health-Porter hospital officials are assuring the community that despite the recent resignation of three general surgeons, patient care will not be compromised. The departure of these surgeons, effective Monday, has raised concerns among some residents. However, hospital spokeswoman Kelly Credit has stated that the hospital has taken proactive steps to maintain continuity of care.
Remaining Staff and Backup Systems
Credit confirmed that two general surgeons remain on staff at Northwest Health-Porter. Furthermore, the hospital has employed general surgeons who are available around-the-clock to handle surgical emergencies and trauma cases. This round-the-clock coverage ensures patients have access to immediate surgical expertise when needed.
The hospital is also actively recruiting to add more surgeons to its team, with plans to onboard new general surgeons in 2025.
Commitment to Quality Care
"The delivery of safe, quality care is the top priority at our hospital and we are committed to delivering high-quality care for our patients and community," Credit emphasized.
With over 600 providers, the Northwest Health-Porter medical staff boasts a diverse range of specialists, including orthopedic, cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, spine, ophthalmology, urology, gynecology, and general surgeons.
Moving Forward
While the departures of the three surgeons are undoubtedly noteworthy, the hospital’s commitment to patient safety and access to care seems unwavering.
