Porsche’s impressive Q1 Performance in Latvia
Porsche has surged into the top three best-selling premium automotive brands in Latvia, marking a important achievement in the competitive luxury car market.According to Ivars Norvelis, a board member at SIA Baltijas Sports Auto, the official Porsche representative, this success is attributed to the brand’s appeal to Latvian drivers who increasingly value the blend of performance, comfort, and elegant design that Porsche vehicles offer.
Cayenne and Macan Lead the Charge
During the first quarter of 2025, a total of 88 new Porsche vehicles where registered in Latvia, propelling the brand into the top tier of premium car sales. The Porsche Cayenne remains the most sought-after model, accounting for 46 registrations. Notably, the all-electric Porsche Macan, introduced to the Latvian market in late 2024, has quickly gained popularity, securing the second spot with 22 registrations.
The growing demand for electric vehicles (EVs) is a global trend, and Latvia is no exception. As of early 2025, EV sales continue to rise, driven by increasing environmental awareness and government incentives. For example, Norway, a global leader in EV adoption, saw electric cars account for over 80% of new car sales in 2024.
Porsche has emerged as the undisputed leader in Latvia’s premium electric vehicle segment during the first quarter of 2025, capturing a commanding 26% market share. This represents a remarkable 184% increase compared to the same period last year. The brand’s success in the EV sector is further highlighted by its overall first-place ranking in electric car sales, boasting a staggering 187.5% year-over-year growth.

Other Models Contribute to Porsche’s Success
While the Cayenne and Macan are the frontrunners, other Porsche models also contributed to the brand’s overall performance. In the first three months of 2024, the Porsche 911, Panamera (4 registrations), and 718 (1 registration) also saw sales, demonstrating the breadth of Porsche’s appeal across different vehicle segments.
Year-on-Year Growth and Market Position
Porsche’s car registrations in Latvia experienced a modest increase of 1.1% compared to the first quarter of the previous year. In 2024, Porsche concluded the year in fifth place in the best-selling premium car rankings. The brand’s ascent into the top three in early 2025 signifies a substantial advancement in its market position and reflects its growing popularity among Latvian car buyers.
