In a matter of days, the first fully electric generation of the Cayenne became a digital phenomenon, capturing the attention of thousands of users who went to the official Porsche configurator to create their ideal version. What initially seemed like normal enthusiasm for a major launch ended up becoming an all-time record for the German brand.

Success is not limited only to media noise. The numbers are compelling and position the Cayenne Electric as one of the strongest debuts of a premium SUV in the last decade, especially in a market where electrification is advancing at increasingly accelerated rates.

Explosive growth in requests and reservations

According to data recorded by Porsche in its United States configurator, more than 110,000 customizations of the new Cayenne Electric They were made just four days after their global launch. Added to this are approximately 10,500 reservations corresponding to the brand’s donation program, an alternative mechanism that also allows you to request the vehicle.

The final result exceeds 130,000 applicationsan unpublished volume for a recently presented model. Although these figures do not directly translate into final sales, Porsche estimates that more than 80% of orders could be completed.

This growth is also linked to the exclusive Sonderwunsch program, which allows customers to access a level of customization far above what traditional dealers offer. With this system, each unit can incorporate special finishes, custom paints and unique details, although at a considerably higher cost.

A new era for Porsche’s flagship SUV

The Cayenne Electric inaugurates the latest generation of the brand’s best-selling SUV, a key piece in Porsche’s global expansion since the early 2000s. Now, its fully electric version not only introduces a renewed design and a cutting-edge technological package, but also sets a new power standard within the history of the German firm.

More than 1,000 horses and unprecedented technology

The Cayenne Electric has been presented as the most powerful vehicle in Porsche history. In its maximum capacity configuration, which uses the Launch Control system, it develops 1,139 horsepower and 1,106 pound-feet of torque, figures normally associated with supercars.

Porsche will initially offer two variants:

  • Cayenne Electric, with 435 horsepower, optimized suspension and balanced approach.
  • Cayenne Turbo Electric, the top-of-the-range version, with more than 1,000 horsepower, designed for those seeking extreme performance.

Another of the model’s key innovations is its wireless charging system, called Porsche Wireless Charging.. This uses an 11 kW module that is installed on the ground, allowing the battery to be charged by simply parking the vehicle on the plate, similar to the latest generation smartphones.

Porsche confirmed that orders for the 2026 Cayenne Electric are now officially open. The first deliveries are scheduled for summer 2026, when units will begin to arrive at dealerships in the United States and other international markets.

The base price of the model will be $111,350 dollarswhile the Cayenne Turbo Electric version will start from $165,350 dollars.
