Pope & President Pavel: Greenland Debate Continues

by Archynetys News Desk

Pope Leo XIV during Monday’s meeting in the Vatican, he accepted President Pavle’s invitation to the Czech Republic. Pavel believes that the visit will take place soon, he wrote on the X network.

The topic of the talks between the head of the Catholic Church and the Czech president was also the situation around Greenland. Czech President Petr Pavel with Pope Leo XIV. he agreed that far from all the possibilities to solve the situation around Greenland and the relations of the United States with Europe have been used. Pavel said this to Czech journalists after an audience with the head of the Catholic Church in the Vatican. Respect for the rules should take precedence over pressure, Pavel said.

US President Donald Trump is seeking to acquire Greenland, which is an autonomous Danish territory. At the same time, Trump does not rule out the use of force, but over the weekend he threatened several European countries with the introduction of tariffs.

“We agreed that democratic countries are and should be natural partners that build not only on respect for the rules, but also on a culture of negotiation, diplomacy rather than pressure. Whether economic or military pressure,” said Pavel after a half-hour meeting with Leo XIV.

The Pope and the President also agreed that the current period could be a turning point, precisely because of the pressure that Trump is exerting on Europe. The President stated that as a result of this pressure, Europe will profile itself and decide which direction it will take.

“If there will be a group of countries here that will adhere to the European values and principles on which the European Union was founded, or if there will be some kind of division here based on the fact that some representatives of European countries, or possibly all of these countries, will officially be on the side of using force regardless of rights and rules,” added Pavel.
