Former minister and member of the Alliance for the Republic (APR), Pape Malick Ndour, was placed in police custody this Friday at the Research Section of the Colobane Gendarmerie, following his hearing.
According to one of his lawyers, several serious charges have been brought against the former National Coordinator of the Community Agricultural Estates Program (Prodac).
He is being prosecuted for “disturbing public order” and “acts likely to undermine the institutions of the Republic”, among other offenses.
These prosecutions follow comments made on October 18 by the former minister during a march, deemed likely to incite revolt.
The investigation is continuing under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office, which took charge of the case.
