Trio Arrested in Connection with ATM Explosions Across Finland

Finnish authorities have apprehended three individuals suspected of a series of ATM explosions that occurred throughout teh country. The suspects are linked to blasts in Vaasa, Eura, and Kempele.

Details of the Incidents

The first incident occurred on October 9, 2024, in Tervajoki Vähäskyrö, Vaasa. Police were alerted to the scene at approximately 2:00 AM. initial assessments indicated that the ATM was severely damaged, and it remained unclear whether the perpetrators successfully obtained any cash.

The second explosion took place in Euran Kauttua on November 13, 2024, around 3:30 AM. In this instance,the ATM was detonated from the exterior wall of a commercial center located on Kauppatie.

The third ATM explosion, which led to the arrest of the trio, occurred on April 10, 2025.

Following the April 10th explosion,the three suspects were apprehended at a hotel in Kempele. They remain in custody as investigations continue.

Charges and Investigation

Authorities are investigating the incidents as potential cases of gross theft and offenses involving explosives. The “Ilkka-Ostrobothnian” newspaper previously reported on the connection between these three ATM explosions.
