A police officer in the Eastern Police District is charged with abuse, violence and murder threats against his former spouse. The abuses should have been going on for more than three years, according to the indictment.
The man must have beaten, kicked, pushed and thrown objects at the woman in the home in Vestfold.
According to the indictment, he also threatened to kill her, and used his position as a policeman to emphasize the threats, reports Tønsbergs Blad.
– He must have said that he knew how he could make her disappear without anyone discovering it, the indictment states.
The policeman is charged with abuse in close relationships under the Penal Code section 282, which has a sentence of six years.
He is also charged with reckless behavior against another woman.
The prosecutor has made reservations about laying off claims for contact bans, as well as loss of rights, which could cause the policeman to lose the job. The accused man informs Tønsbergs Blad that he is currently on sick leave.
The case will be dealt with in Vestfold District Court in May next year. The court has set aside four days for the case.
