Police Findings: What’s New & Changed

BRATISLAVA – Slovakia was shocked by the story of actor Ivan Kozák (39), who claimed as late as December 2025 that he was brutally beaten by a group of 12-13-year-old boys at the train station in Žilina and robbed of 350 euros and a mobile phone. According to him, the police refused to help him. After examining all the CCTV footage, the police came up with new findings and it seems that the whole thing was completely different.

Kozák, also known from the show Czech Republic has talent, said that it was the third attack in a row in the run-up to Christmas and each time he suffered a concussion. “I don’t know why, I probably have too much charisma for someone, but for the third year in a row I have been attacked and beaten up this pre-Christmas period,” he told the weekly Plus 7 days.

The actor described a terrifying moment: after visiting a pizzeria at the station, he was suddenly knocked to the ground from behind and hit hard on the head. “I came out and I was already on the ground. Bloodied, with a swollen sled, toothache, bruises and problems with my left eye, I immediately called security to call the police. But the patrol treated me like a homeless person and refused to locate my cell phone or help track down the thieves.” Kozak claimed.

His comments sparked public outrage and the police responded by conducting an internal review of patrol procedures. The Žilina police said at the time that they were checking all the circumstances of the incident and taking the necessary steps to clarify the case. Today everything is clear! The regional directorate of PZ Žilina has published the results of the investigation of the entire mediatized event. “Evaluation of all available camera footage did not confirm information about an attack by young people that appeared on social networks. The person in question did not respond to repeated telephone or written summons delivered to his address.”

Despite the non-cooperation of the person concerned, the police continued to clarify the case. “After carrying out all the necessary actions, the clarification was completed, while no illegal actions were detected. A concurrently ordered review of the procedure of the intervening police officers did not reveal any irregularities.” said the Žilina police.

While the public was shocked by the brutal attack in December, new findings suggest the reality may be very different. Kozák has not yet officially commented on the current results, but the incident is already raising questions about the credibility of the initial information that the actor was describing.
