Thanks to the vigilance of a walker and the rapid intervention of the municipal police and the Les Poilus du 33 association, seven abandoned puppies escaped certain death. Found hungry and dehydrated in a burrow, these young dogs, now in foster care, embody the beauty of solidarity.
That morning, a walker and her dog stumble upon an unusual burrow. Inside, seven puppies, barely a month and a half old, are struggling to survive. Their mother, absent most of the time, only brings them sporadic food. Condemned without intervention, their fate changed thanks to the call from the Portets municipal police.
The Les Poilus du 33 association, specializing in rescuing animals in distress, was immediately contacted. Volunteer Eva describes their critical condition : “They were emaciated, dehydrated, and weighed less than a kilo. » Despite everything, their ability to eat moistened kibble, although fragile, represents hope.
The municipal police and the Poilus du 33 volunteers join forces to organize their transport to a host family. Sandra, a dedicated volunteer, takes them under her wing. “They have gained weight and are starting to play, it’s a real pleasure to see them flourish”she confides.
The municipal police officer involved in the rescue has not given up hope of finding their mother. Despite searches, it remains untraceable. “We hoped to give him a second chance too”she confides.
The puppies, now wormed and dewormed, are waiting for their complete weaning to be offered for adoption. “Their health is improving every day”specifies the association. Their story, shared on social networks, touched hundreds of people.
