A 37-year-old man, identified as Andy B.,has been arrested in Saxony-Anhalt in connection with a violent attack on two women in Gerbstedt. The arrest concludes a large-scale search initiated after the incident.

The Halle police reported that the suspect was apprehended on Saturday evening at 10:35 p.m.after gaining access to the residence where he allegedly assaulted the two women on Thursday evening. The arrest was carried out by a special operations command from Magdeburg. An arrest warrant had been issued for andy B. on suspicion of attempted manslaughter, and he is expected to appear before a judge.

According to the police, “When arresting, it was noted that the 37-year-old man had inflicted injuries himself. Prior to the arrest, authorities had been actively searching for Andy B., who was suspected of attacking two women, ages 56 and 32. The 56-year-old sustained serious injuries, while the 32-year-old suffered minor injuries. Initial reports suggested the suspect may have attacked his former mother-in-law with a knife, and the 32-year-old was identified as his ex-partner. A neighbor reported seeing “everything was full of blood” in the hallway, though this detail has not been officially confirmed by police.
