The 27-year-old man, who died of meningitis, had a rare form of infection. This was stated by Dr. Yulia Dimitrova, Director of the Directorate “Development of Infectious Diseases”-RZI-Yambol at bTV. He was admitted to the Plovdiv hospital in a critical condition and died for hours.

“It has a rare and acute course of symptoms. The relatives are checked, they are not infected,” Dimitrova added.

Starting today, everyone will be able to have meningococcus vaccines. Those who wish must first buy the drug from a pharmacy, the Ministry of Health explains.

The 2-month-old baby from Plovdiv, which is also treated by a dangerous disease, is improving. The condition of a 13-year-old child who is being treated in the metropolitan pediatrics continues to be severe.

Dr. Dimitrova explained that by the age of 6 months the doses for vaccination are two. They are one for adolescents and adults.

As far as I am informed, there are vaccines available on the pharmacy network, if not, they can be claimed and will be delivered. About $ 90 costs the preparation. And in order not to burden the GPs, we decided to immunize in the cabinets of the RZI, “the doctor added.

Outside the vaccines, experts soothe – the infection is not so contagious.

Headache, vomiting, rash and neck stiffness are the complaints that parents should direct to a doctor.
