Fans of PlayStation VR 2, rejoice! Exciting games await you in 2025, and here’s everything you need to know about the latest announcements.
Recent weeks have seen several game reveals that are set to excite the VR gaming community. PlayStation’s State of Play event showcased three promising titles: Dreams of Another, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic, and The Midnight Walk. These updates bring a mix of exploration, survival horror, and unique storytelling to the VR scene.
Dreams of Another
Q-Games revealed Dreams of Another, the latest entry in the PixelJunk series. This third-person action game explores a philosophical theme: the connection between creation and destruction. Rather than shooting and destroying objects, players’ shots take a unique form, materializing and rebuilding the world around them.
Dreams of Another will launch later in the year, with the added benefit of being compatible with or without a PSVR 2 headset.
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic
The highly popular Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise continues to thrive with the release of Secret of the Mimic, the third VR installment. State of Play provided a new gameplay trailer along with an official release date of June 13, 2025. You can experience Secret of the Mimic with or without a VR headset.
The Midnight Walk
The Midnight Walk blends dark fantasy with incredible artistry. This adventure employs stop-motion technology, where every element was crafted in clay, then digitized for an immersive experience. Players take on the role of “The Burnt One,” who teams up with a lantern creature named “Potboy” to explore the realm. The game also features multiple stories and mysterious characters, all presented in stunning detail.
Set for release on May 8, 2025, The Midnight Walk is part of the growing roster of games that can be enjoyed both with and without a VR headset.
I, Robot
Following the success of Akka Arrh, Atari and Llamasoft are collaborating on another classic arcade game remake: I, Robot. Designed for multiple platforms with a PSVR 2 exclusive, this retro-style shooter promises to be a nostalgic yet innovative gaming experience. The release window is set for spring 2025.
Resist
Resist, a dystopian action RPG where you fight against oppressive forces, has already made waves on Meta Quest and Steam. The PSVR 2 version will include enhanced features such as haptic feedback. A specific release date hasn’t been confirmed yet, but updates on its availability will follow.
Deisim & Underworld Overseer
Myron Software has announced plans to bring Deisim and Underworld Overseer to PlayStation VR 2. These God sims have received positive feedback from the community and are expected to be available in the coming months.
Into Black
Explore a mysterious alien planet as space explorer Ben Mitchell in Into Black. The game offers multiple levels, alien encounters, and a captivating storyline. Known for its frequent updates, this co-op Quest hit is gaining traction and promises more additions soon.
Although the specific release date is still unknown, more details on its future releases will follow.
Dig VR
Dig VR, a simulation game initially released on Meta Quest, will expand to PC VR and PlayStation VR 2 in March 2025. Players start with a small excavator and progress to larger machines, along with various attachments for diverse tasks. Suitable for both beginners and professionals, Dig VR offers a comprehensive career mode, mini-games, and sandbox mode.
