This is an event that should not be missed if you are a Playmobil fan (or even if you are not or no longer are). Saturday November 15 and Sunday November 16, a major exhibition will be held at La Saline in Soultz-sous-Forêts, organized in close collaboration by two associations: Générations Playmo Elsass, based in Brumath and Soultz’imagin’.
“This is the first Playmobil exhibition in Northern Alsace,” rejoices Michel Filliger, president of Soultz’imagin’. We had wanted to do an exhibition of this type in Soultz for several years. »
A diorama recalling local history
For the occasion, La Saline will be transformed over a weekend to accommodate ten giant dioramas representing scenes sometimes taken from real events, sometimes from films, personalities or historical facts. Like for example, Heidi and the Magic of Christmas which will pay homage to the famous cartoon by associating it with the approaching end-of-year holidays. Or even a diorama this time on ancient Egypt. Michel Filliger also wanted to add a touch of local northern Alsatian history: in fact, a scene from the Battle of Reichshoffen in 1870 will also be exhibited. “It was particularly close to my heart because with the association, we carried out the project of organizing a show to commemorate the 150 years of the battle,” he explains.
All of the pieces presented to the public during this weekend come from “passionate collectors, who designed each scene themselves”.
A desire to mark the event over time
Several other activities will also take place during these two days: Playmobil sales, raffles and giant Playmobils will also be on display. If Michel Filliger wants to be “cautious” and will take stock at the end of this first edition, the president of Soultz’imagin’ projects himself in the back of his mind: “The idea, if this first one works, would be to repeat the event every two years”, he explains.
Saturday, November 15, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, November 16, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Entrance: €2, free for children under 10.
