The first generation of the legendary Honda NSX returns in a modern design without losing authenticity. The carbon exterior, meticulous details and technical tuning from JAS promise sharper engine and chassis responses and a character that is better suited to today’s traffic.
Opinions on how to deal with vintage cars differ. While one side wants to stay as true to the classics as possible, the other uses modern technology to amplify their DNA, making them more reliable and possibly even more usable in everyday use. Pininfarina is now embarking on exactly this process in cooperation with JAS Motorsport.
Together, the companies chose the first generation Honda NSX, which was a revered sports car even when it was new. The original first-generation chassis gets a custom-made carbon coat from Pininfarina. According to the official photos, he will remain faithful to the nineties, but will add a modern twist to them.
Bentley embodies the beauty of the Black Forest in three handcrafted models
This can be seen in the more rounded nose with “blinkers”, new LED daytime running lights and a prominent cut-out in the hood. We also see the exhaust behind the front fenders, the preserved cut-out in front of the rear ones, and modern LED taillights copying the original shape. There is also a typical fixed spoiler. As a result, it is a sensitively executed reincarnation without a violation of identity.
It’s not hard to guess that JAS Motorsport will focus on the technical side of things for a change. The Italian racing engineering company based in Arluno, near Milan, has been involved in motorsport since 1996. Originally a racing team, it turned into a development center for customer racing programs, such as the Honda Civic WTCC for the Touring Car Championship or the NSX GT3/GT3 Evo22 in the GT series. In addition, she hosts events related to the Civic Type R.

The new Honda Prelude is finally official: It won’t dazzle with performance, but it will still be great
The rebirth project of the classic NSX is based on the original naturally aspirated 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine. There aren’t many details about the final tuning, but in general it’s supposed to bring a more flexible response and more power, so it definitely won’t stay with the original 200kW and 285Nm of torque. The six-speed manual transmission will also meet modern standards.
