The 48th edition of the Classic PIF slow pitch tournament is underway in Sherbrooke, Quebec. Forty-five teams from Quebec, Ontario, the Maritimes, adn the United States are competing for the championship in four divisions. The week-long tournament is a long-standing tradition that draws large crowds to the city.

Pif is still a tournament different from all the others. It takes place over a full week and it allows us to play a really high ball caliber,so that’s why we come back every year.

Jean-Charles Doyon, the director general of the Classic PIF, attributes the event’s success to its long-standing reputation.
This is the first event of the summer, so the population comes here, the schools have just closed, people come to feast at the inflatable playground and with the excellent ball caliber, as much on the feminine and male side.
Jean-Charles Doyon, Director General of the Classic PIF

Players appreciate the high level of competition at the tournament.
I think it reminds me of big tournaments that we do in baseball. Frequently enough the ball given is in small villages and it is indeed more friendly tournaments. Here,we are lucky to play with a good caliber, there is a lot of competition,so I think it comes to look for this little challenge, this challenge.
Anne Drouin, Player

For the first time in its 48-year history, the Classic PIF will host an exhibition match between two of its best teams: Beloli/Chosen/All American and ProAxion Horizon Health. The match will take place on Friday evening.
