Super Bowl 60 is almost upon us, and in preparation for the big game, we wanted to find out who makes the best chicken wings in metro Phoenix.
The Republic’s chicken wing poll pitted nine Valley wing joints against each other. There was also a write-in option for those who didn’t see their favorite restaurant listed as a contender.
The spot that stood out from the rest, earning nearly 33% of the vote, was Native Grill & Wings.
Native Wings opened its first location in Phoenix in the 1970s and has since grown to be one of the biggest wing spots in Arizona, with over a dozen locations in the Valley. They pride themselves on bringing Buffalo-style wings to the Southwest.
“Every consumer has a choice where they want to go. There’s so many different wing choices out there, so to be voted best chicken wing in Phoenix is huge for us, our brand and our franchise,” said Evan Weckstein, Director of Operations for Native Grill & Wings, upon receiving the news.
What’s on the menu at Native Grill & Wings?
Native’s traditional wings come with over 20 sauce or dry rub options, including chile pepper hot, honey BBQ, spicy honey mustard, habanero mango, ghost, kickin’ bourbon, general Tso, ancho chile lime and chicken and waffles.
In addition to chicken wings, Native’s menu also includes pizza, burgers, sandwiches, flatbreads and salads. Appetizers and sides include tater tots, cheese curds, curly fries, onion rings and loaded fries.

“We’d love to have people come try the best wing in Phoenix,” Weckstein said.
