She was born in Porrentruy but grew up in Pfetterhouse. Romane Riat, alias Lüssi when she puts on her stage costume, is now 21 years old and lives in Strasbourg. Diaphanous complexion and gray silhouette, she heads the Strasbourg Unisson choir, around forty amateur choristers. She leads two artistic projects in parallel: Lüssi, where she sings accompanied by the cello by Lison Scherrer and Préludes, a duo of guitars and voice.
First scenes with Music Art System
His way, Lüssi found her in Hirtzbach, with Aurélie, her first singing teacher, then in Altkirch, with the Music Art System association. “Around 14-15 years old, I joined the group. We met every weekend. We sang what we wanted, we gave ourselves advice, it was really a great atmosphere. At the time, it was very good to sing for fun. I stopped when I went to study in Strasbourg. »»
In the Alsatian capital, she worked her voice for a year at the Music Professional Training Center, then at the Conservatoire, for four years. “Since 2021, music represents 100 % of my activity,” said the young singer, spotted and integrated in 2024 into the accompaniment of emerging artists Music & they (Grand Est) and Iceberg (Franco-Swiss) operation.
Sober and intimate
The score, however, was not written: no musician in the family and a great shyness child: “I hid to sing,” says Romane Riat, laughing.
Today, she sees in her practice of song “a way of escaping and expressing themselves”. His musical universe, between brightness and gravity, resembles him. “I would say it is French song or French -speaking pop, sober and intimate. The subjects on which I write are varied but these are very often lived stories. I have more easier to compose melodies than to write texts. For that, I need calm and greenery to concentrate. »»
The little family stay in Pfetterhouse could well produce new compositions, after a first album five titles, First lightsreleased in October 2024 and a latest song, I crybroadcast since April 2025 on streaming platforms and social networks.
“Today, my goal is to find concert dates. To discover it, the closest meeting (in time and geographically) will take place on Sunday, August 24 at the Malsaucy peninsula, in the territory of Belfort.
