Ukrainian Citizen Charged with Hooliganism After Bratislava Incident

A 46-year-old Ukrainian citizen,Anton B., has been charged with hooliganism following a violent incident in the Bratislava district of Petržalka. The incident occurred on Saturday evening on Hrobáková Street,were the suspect allegedly damaged parked cars and attacked a senior married couple.
According to Bratislava regional police spokesman Michal Szeiff, “His behavior did not leave indifferent attention to the inhabitant of the nearby house.” Police were dispatched to Hrobákova Street shortly after 18:00 after receiving reports of the disturbance.
Details of the Incident
Upon arrival, police found a man, later identified as Anton B., being subdued by a witness. “The police have checked and confirmed the authenticity of this announcement on the spot,” Szeiff stated. He added that officers observed a man lying on the ground being restrained by another man.
“His behavior did not leave indifferent attention to the inhabitant of the nearby house.”
“On the spot it was found that a 46-year-old citizen of Ukraine unjustly damaged the parked motor vehicles on the street, and the fist was also damaged by the vehicle at that time was a 74-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman.”
The witness, who observed the incident from a nearby balcony, intervened and detained the suspect until police arrived.
Charges Filed
“Medical assistance was also sent to the place, which was treated by the attacked woman on the spot, and her 74-year-old husband subsequently transported to the hospital for treatment. The police escorted the aggressive man to the police department to perform other necessary actions,” says Szeiff spokesman.
anton B. has been formally accused of hooliganism. “In this way, we would like to thank the alerting citizen who was not indifferent to the aggressive behavior of a 46-year-old man, has been exemplary and limited to the personal freedom of the perpetrator of the unlawful conduct until the PZ patrol arrived,” the police spokesman added.
The police cited § 85 par. 2 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, which allows anyone to limit the personal freedom of a person caught committing a crime to determine identity, prevent escape, ensure evidence, or prevent further crime.
