Petra Sörling Re-elected as ITTF president; Meeting Suspended

Petra Sörling (SWE) secured a second term as President of teh International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) at a meeting in Doha, though the assembly faced unexpected disruptions.

Petra Sörling (SWE) was re-elected President of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) during the Annual General Meeting in Doha on Tuesday, 27 May 2025. Sörling garnered 104 votes, narrowly defeating Khalil Al-Mohannadi (QAT), who received 102 votes.

The Annual general Meeting (AGM) was temporarily suspended following a disruption caused by individuals not affiliated with the ITTF.

Due to the suspension, a subsequent meeting will be scheduled to proceed with the election of the Vice Presidents.ITTF President Petra Sörling is expected to announce the new date soon.According to Article 1.87.1 of the ITTF Constitution, this meeting must occur before November 2025 to adhere to the Executive Board‘s four-year term.
