Peruke & Periwig in Dublin City Centre Undergoes Major Renovation
Dublin city centre cocktail bar Peruke & Periwig is set to transform as part of a significant investment programme by its parent group.
New Brand Identity: Eclective Hospitality Group
The bar’s former owner, Press Up Hospitality Group, has rebranded as Eclective Hospitality Group. This move reflects a new direction for the brand, promising “a distinctive new look that celebrates difference.”
Exterior and Interior Upgrades
Renovations at Peruke & Periwig, located on Dawson Street, have commenced. The exterior of the building is now scaffolded as it undergoes a fresh coat of paint. Inside, the bar is undergoing a refresh, including new wallpaper and carpeting. Importantly, the bar will remain open throughout the renovation process as all work is scheduled during non-trading hours.
The Design Team
The design project is being led by O’Donnell O’Neill, a design agency with a proven history working with the Eclective Hospitality Group.
Additional Venues Undergoing Renovation
Elephant & Castle, another establishment in Dublin, is set to undergo a similar refurbishment process. This project will commence soon, with the business continuing to operate during non-trading hours to ensure minimal disruption to customers.
A Modern Identity
The Eclective Hospitality Group’s new identity aims to be modern and sophisticated. It reflects the diverse range of venues under their umbrella, numbering 24 throughout Dublin and employing over 850 staff.
The name “Eclective” was chosen to celebrate the group’s eclectic mix of bars and restaurants, catering to a wide array of customers from different backgrounds and experiences.
Statement from Leadership
Tristan Jacob, the chief commercial officer of Eclective, explained the reasoning behind the rebrand: “We chose the word Eclective carefully, and although not a common word in the dictionary, it captures the essence of our group that celebrates different experiences in unique venues for people from all walks of life.”
Dave Mongan, the chief operations officer, highlighted that the rebrand is about more than just a change in name. “It represents the commitment of all our teams to enhance the customer experience and create exciting and vibrant social experiences across the city,” he said.
Future Developments
The group’s growth and rebranding do not end with these two establishments. Eclective Hospitality Group has plans to open a new dining concept on the site of the former Wagamama in Blanchardstown this spring.
Eclective is setting itself up as a leader in the hospitality industry not just by its diverse offerings but also by its commitment to creating unique and memorable dining experiences.
