Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Two players Persija Jakarta confirmed to be absent from the match against Persib Bandung in the continuation of the 2025/2026 Super League.

This match will take place on January 11 2025 at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium. The two absent players are Ryo Matsumura and Fabio Calonego.

Matsumura was banned four times and fined IDR 50 million, while Calonego only twice, without a fine. This sanction was given for their actions in the previous match.

Yes, this sanction was given by the PSSI Disciplinary Committee (Komdis) after receiving a match report from match commissioner Semen Padang FC versus Persija on December 22 2025.

This match ended with a score of 1-0 in favor of Semen Padang. This match was a tough one, with one red card and one goal disallowed.

After the match, Matsumura was seen making inappropriate body language towards referee Steven Yubel Poli. This is what caused the PSSI Komdis to impose heavy sanctions.

Calonego received a red card at the end of the match. After holding a trial, the PSSI Komdis decided to increase the sentence for Calonego.

This is of course a loss for Persija in this prestigious away match. The Persija versus Persib match or vice versa is highly anticipated by both club supporters.

However, Matsumura and Calonego can still appear in Persija versus Bhayangkara FC, Monday (29/12) tonight. Both can play because this is a postponed match.
