Perfect Dark Lead Starts New Studio Under Take-Two

Earlier this year, we heard the sad news that Xbox was shutting down The Initiative and the Perfect Dark reboot. This isn’t too surprising to anyone, but it’s still disappointing to hear. Later, I learned through Jason Schreier that Take-Two actually tried to save the project with Crystal Dynamics, but failed.

Now, via Schreier, we know that the protagonists of the project have been rescued and appointed as heads of 2K’s new studio. Perfect Dark studio head Darrell Gallagher and director Brian Horton are launching the studio, Gallagher confirmed via LinkedIn.

he wrote: “I’m excited to announce that I will be joining 2K as Senior Vice President, Studio Head, to build a brand new studio and lead an unprecedented ambition.”“My whole life, I have believed that when great people come together with a bold vision, much more is possible. I can’t wait to get started at 2K with this outstanding team!”

We don’t know the name of the studio yet or what they’re working on, but in a rather rare occurrence in gaming news, at least we’re talking about people finding jobs rather than losing them.
