Beloved Grandma of County Limerick Passes Away at 92: Community Honors a Lifetime of Love

Peaceful Departure of a Kind Hearted Woman
On February 19, 2025, a cherished member of the Kilcoora and Broadford community passed away peacefully at the age of 92. Surrounded by her loving family, she received excellent care from the dedicated staff at Medical 2, Mallow General Hospital.
Losing a Loved One
Her husband Davy passed away before her, as did her beloved daughter Hannah and her son-in-law Pat. She was also predeceased by her sister, Mary Ita.
Leaving a Beautiful Legacy
She leaves behind an extensive family including her daughters Katherine and Christina, her son Thomas, and her daughter-in-law Kate. She will be deeply missed by her adored granddaughters Sinead, Katelyn, and Alison. She held close ties with her brother Seamus and her sisters Eileen and Kathleen (Cribben). Her sister-in-law, Sr. Josie (Mount St. Vincent, Limerick), and brother-in-law continue the family legacy.

Memorial Services
A funeral viewing will be held at Sextons Funeral Home, Broadford on Friday, February 21, from 6 PM to 8 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, February 22, at her residence for the transfer to St. Ita’s Church, Raheenagh. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated there at 12 PM. The Mass will be live-streamed at you can watch here. Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest in Aglish Cemetery.
